THE GRAND CRITÉRIUM DE MONTMARTRE

Hosted by the Montmartre Vélo Club, the first Grand Critérium de Montmartre took place in April 2024 on the steep cobbled streets around Sacré Coeur in Paris. It paid homage to the club's origins during the Covid-19 lockdown, when the French government mandated that all exercise activities had to take place within a one-kilometre radius of home and a group of friends began to train together on the slopes of their neighbourhood. The Critérium included the main finishing climb that will feature in the 2024 Olympic Games' men’s and womens’ road races.
