Mount Boron

This fourth option begins with a coffee at the counter of the Café du Cycliste in the harbour of Nice. The path begins a few hundred meters from here. You can reserve a locker in the cafe's cloakroom to leave your personal belongings there. You will begin your journey when you cross the threshold and finish your light stretches.

You glide alongside the port, then past the beach where the coastal path begins. It’s magical on the side of the rock, overlooking the sea. The best time of day to set off on this route is certainly the morning. After three kilometres, you will arrive at the foot of a staircase which is sure to make you wince. This one is reserved for the brave; the objective is to keep running without cracking (good luck).

Following the trail towards the sea then begins the ascent of Mont Boron. Nothing too difficult in terms of elevation, at most a good sweat if the sun has already risen in the sky. On Mont Boron and up to the fort, a good part is run in the shade of the pines.

The 180º views over the eastern waters will reward your efforts. This is obviously a route not to be missed if you’re staying in Nice. Then it’s a gentle U-turn back to the Café to retrieve any of your personal affects. We highly recommend the homemade lemonade served at the bar.
